Collaborative Governance
Regenerative Communities collaborated with local collective impact organisation Hands Up Mallee to create a new Collaborative Governance model for community-led change.
Hands Up Mallee (HUM) is a collective impact initiative based in the Northern Mallee region of Victoria. HUM was created to bring local leaders and the community together to address social issues and improve health and well- being outcomes for children, young people and their families.
HUM is a unique collective impact initiative, and requires a unique approach to governance, vision holding and strategic decision making that aligns to the community-led values of the initiative
Rhae from Regenerative Communities resourced a Collaborative Governance group to develop and design their own ways of communication, finding shared values and creating decision making processes.
βThe Hands Up Mallee Collaborative Governance project seeks to create a new way of governance that is inclusive of the people the organisation serves. We have a diverse range of cultures, genders, ages and abilities across our group.
We use regenerative frameworks to design and evaluate our processes. Each meeting starts with a session outdoors where I guide activities to connect us with self, the environment and each other. We aim to enter our meetings with a being state of openness, connectivity and trust.β
In June 2024 this report was produced to share the story of how the project developed, in hope that we can inspire some new ways of approaching governance for other organisations.
Read a little more about how the evolution of the project in the Journey Map report which was created in July 2023 to evaluate our processes.
